I selected DISTINCTIVE LASS for Nearco Stud at the 2011 Australian Easter Broodmare Sale. She cost A$140,000 and fitted my criteria of being young, Stakes-performed & offering a great pedigree which included Special (3 x Gr.1 winner).

Distinctive Lass was carrying a positive test to Denman; that subsequent foal turned out to be KURO, her first Black Type performer.  It was just the beginning, here's the record Distinctive Lass at 01 September 2026.
