It's an old saying that we are the sum total of all our experiences. It's very true and I've gleaned so much in my time from great achievers in this industry, including the remarkable late Ken Browne.
I found this old photo recently; it's me interviewing Ken pre-race at Te Rapa during my 15 year stint with New Zealand's Trackside Television.
I observed Ken as a rider, trainer, administrator and mentor. He and his wife Anne were always generous with their time & knowledge. I have fond memories of filming at the Browne's property with both Trackside & TV3.
There is no university course for potential success in the racing and breeding industry, but there is a free path - observe closely the great achievers, I guarantee it will stand you in good stead.
