Secured my top pick at Book Two

In what proved to be a very tough day for vendors at Karaka today, I was delighted to secure the filly that figured at the top of my wish list.

Lot 640, a filly by Shooting to Win (Northern Meteor) from Teardrops (by Fastnet Rock), was bred by John Corcoran and raised at Grangewilliam Stud, the very same farm that wonder mare Verry Elleegant began her life in this country.

I purchased the filly for a Wellington-based client for $30,000. She is tall, balanced and confident and it's a page which will stand to her if she's good enough to earn Black Type going forward.

NZB's Karaka Book Two Sale has been a happy hunting ground for me in the past with the Gr.1 winner Quintessential selected there. So too were the likes of Fascination Street (LR winner), Dancer's Tale (2YO LR winner) and most recent girls in Fonsalette (Gr.2-placed) and Best Seller (Gr.2-placed).

Lot 640 from the consignment of Grangewilliam Stud after my purchase today.
