New Zealand Bloodstock 3YO Filly of the Year Jennifer Eccles has returned to the Shaune Ritchie stable in great heart after a two month break with Paul Pertab in Matamata.
Shaune & I have revisited spring racing options for the Rip Van Winkle filly and have decided that a Melbourne Spring campaign is most likely.
All things going well she will trial in New Zealand before resuming 12 September in the A$200,000 Let's Elope Stakes-Gr.2 (Mares - set weights & penalties) over 1400m at Flemington.
Jennifer Eccles' 3YO season saw her win the Al Basti Equiworld Dubai NZ Oaks-Gr.1 (2400m), Little Avondale Lowland Stakes-Gr.2 (2100m), David & Karyn Ellis Fillies Classic-Gr.2 (2000m) & SkyCity Eight Carat Classic-Gr.2 (1600m). She was also runner-up in the Gavelhouse.com NZ 1000 Guineas-Gr.1 (1600m).
