Congratulations to trainer Andrew Carston and the group of owners of Miss Federer, a gutsy winner of last Saturday's Barneswood Farm Welcome Stakes-LR at Riccarton Park.
I selected the filly's dam Halobelle during my 8 year stint with Nearco Stud and planned the mating with Swiss Ace which resulted in Miss Federer (photo of filly as a foal at Bradbury Park where she was born and raised).
The first foal from Halobelle was Miss Federer's sister, Starlight Angel. She won 3 races and was Stakes Placed second for the Challenge No.3 Syndicate.
Casey Dando of Bradbury Park tells me that Halobelle dropped a lovely filly by Sacred Falls late last week.
