I vividly remember fronting up to Sir Peter Vela & asking for his permission to pitch the concept of live TV coverage of the Karaka Premier Sale. He was keen, so were my bosses at Trackside & it became a reality. I stand to be corrected, but am pretty sure it was a world first.
