'Gut feeling' Wrote filly ready to deliver

Writer's picture: Adrian ClarkAdrian Clark

When I inspected the Highview Stud yearling consignment on a hot summer's day earlier this year I got a really strong gut feeling for their Wrote filly from Star Amazing (Danroad). While she didn't have text-book perfect front legs, I loved her action & demeanour and knew I had to have a second look when she faced the pressure of the Karaka Sales environment.

At the NZB Sale I observed a no fuss, confident filly - strong as hell too, so bought her at the bargain price of $12,000. She was syndicated and is now owned by the Challenge ZEN Syndicate. She spelled at Woburn Farm (see pic), was broken-in by Challenge's expert breaker Paul Pertab and is now trained by John Bary at his private training complex near Hastings.

Now named BEST SELLER, the filly won her second Jump Out this morning at Waipukurau in terrific style. The groundwork is done & she is ready to debut - that could happen at Tauherenikau Thursday week over 1000m.
