Challenge maintains filly-only model

Challenge Racehorse Syndications has stuck hard-and-fast to a policy of only dealing with fillies and mares since inception in 2012. The thinking is threefold. One: Developing a filly's CV through achieving Black Type credentials massively improves her worth - Jennifer Eccles, Fascination Street, Dancer's Tale, Avisto & Secret Spirit are glowing Challenge examples. Two: The female-only thing is a key point of difference to our Syndication competitors - Challenge is the only operator doing this to my knowledge in NZ & Australia. THREE: Challenge has always been about affordability and there is no doubt quality fillies can be secured at sensible prices. What's more, the breeding industry needs all the help it can get in moving their female stock.
